Road Easier Travelled for Stafford Motorists
Brisbane City Council is getting on with the job of making Brisbane’s roads smoother, safer and less congested, delivering a vital suburban road upgrade for Stafford motorists.
Fiona King, Councillor for Marchant Ward, said Council was set to begin work later this month on a $173,000 full resurface of Collier St.
“Brisbane City Council is investing almost $1 billion on road infrastructure this financial year alone – more than half of which is earmarked for local road upgrades such as this one.
“That includes a record $65 million on local road resurfacing and the unprecedented Road Action Program, which is fast tracking 15 years' worth of priority road works into four years.
“This upgrade of Collier St at Stafford will ensure local motorists enjoy a safer and easier trip through their suburb.”
The project will include asphalting and line marking.
Construction is expected to be completed by late February, weather permitting.
